Quarterbacks in the NFL rarely get extended personal time during the season, but Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is making the most of the early offseason.
According to SI Lifestyle’s Cara O’Bleness, Goff traveled to Northern California during Super Bowl weekend with his wife, Christen, and their infant daughter. The Super Bowl took place in Santa Clara, home of the San Francisco 49ers, on February 8.
Goff shared photos from the trip on Instagram this week, posting a family “photo dump” that included five images of his daughter, Romy, who was born in July. The post also featured moments from the Pro Bowl Games, which Goff attended in California, along with pictures from visits to his former schools.
During the 2025 NFL season, Goff completed 68 percent of his passes for 4,564 yards, throwing 37 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He averaged 7.9 yards per attempt and earned a Pro Bowl selection while leading the Lions to a 9–8 record.
Lions QB Jared Goff Celebrates Family and Career Milestones
The timing of the trip was fitting for the Goff family, as both Jared and Christen were celebrating major accomplishments.
In addition to earning a Pro Bowl nod for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games, Christen Goff announced on February 5 that she was selected as one of SI Swimsuit’s February 2026 digital cover models.
To commemorate the moment, the family returned to Goff’s roots. The quarterback captioned his Instagram post simply with “415,” referencing the California area code tied to the region they visited.
Goff played both high school and college football in Northern California. His post showed the family visiting Marin Catholic High School and the University of California, Berkeley, where he starred as a Golden Bear.
O’Bleness described the images as the “sweetest,” highlighting fan reactions in the comments.
“We’re not the only ones who loved the sweet family moments, as several of Goff’s fans, friends and followers chimed in on the post, which also showed Romy smiling as her dad held her on his shoulders,” O’Bleness wrote.
