Jared Goff Shares Personal News During NFL Offseason

NFL quarterbacks rarely get much downtime once the regular season begins, but with the year wrapped up, Detroit Lions signal-caller made the most of his break. The veteran passer recently spent time in Northern California with his wife, Christen, and their infant daughter.

According to SI Lifestyle’s Cara O’Bleness, the family traveled west during Super Bowl weekend. This year’s championship game was held in Santa Clara at Levi’s Stadium, home of the .

Goff later shared a series of photos from the trip on Instagram, offering fans a glimpse into the family getaway. The post featured multiple snapshots of the couple’s daughter, Romy, who arrived in July. Several images also captured moments from the Pro Bowl Games — which Goff attended — along with visits to places that played a major role in his football journey.

The quarterback enjoyed a strong 2025 campaign, completing 68 percent of his passes for 4,564 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He averaged 7.9 yards per attempt and helped guide Detroit to a 9–8 finish, earning another Pro Bowl nod in the process.

The timing of the vacation aligned with milestone moments for both Goff and his wife. While Goff secured his fifth career Pro Bowl selection, Christen celebrated professional success of her own, announcing on February 5 that she had been chosen as one of SI Swimsuit’s February 2026 digital cover models.

The family’s visit carried sentimental value. Goff captioned his Instagram post simply with “415,” referencing the Northern California area code tied to his roots. The trip included stops at Marin Catholic High School and the University of California, Berkeley — the places where he developed before entering the NFL.

Fans were quick to react to the heartfelt photos, particularly the images of Romy smiling while sitting on her father’s shoulders. Many flooded the comments section with supportive messages.

Goff’s recent Pro Bowl appearance adds to an already impressive résumé. He previously earned two selections during his tenure with the and has now been named to the game three times since joining Detroit. He has earned Pro Bowl recognition in three of the last four seasons.

Although Detroit’s offense experienced more ups and downs in 2025 compared to its dominant 2024 campaign — when the unit ranked first in scoring and second in total yardage league-wide — Goff’s individual performance remained steady. In some respects, he may have even played at a higher level despite inconsistencies in play-calling and offensive line protection.

Looking ahead, the Lions are aiming for greater stability on offense. Goff acknowledged during Pro Bowl festivities that improving consistency will be a top priority next season. The team will pursue that goal under new leadership after hiring Drew Petzing as offensive coordinator to replace John Morton.

As the offseason continues, Goff appears to be balancing preparation for the year ahead with meaningful family time — a rare luxury for an NFL quarterback.
