Love is in the air for Nick Suzuki and Caitlin Fitzgerald.

On Wednesday, Montréal Canadiens fans were buzzing with excitement after the team’s captain, Nick Suzuki, shared the heartwarming news of his engagement to his longtime girlfriend.

The couple, who have been dating for six years, announced their plans to tie the knot with a shared Instagram post that featured images from Suzuki’s proposal in Dominican Republic, including photos of Fitzgerald’s oval-cut engagement ring with diamond encrusted band.

Suzuki and Fitzgerald, both 24, let the photos speak for themselves, captioning the post with just a heart emoji.

In the comments section, the post was quickly met with supportive messages from fans congratulating the bride and groom-to-be.
