Lions could be without Penei Sewell and Jameson Williams; 2 players ruled out.

The Detroit Lions have listed All-Pro offensive tackle Penei Sewell and speedy receiver Jameson Williams as questionable for their game on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Edge rusher Marcus Davenport is doubtful, while safety Ifeatu Melifonwu and receiver Isaiah Williams have been ruled out.

Sewell missed consecutive practices earlier this week due to an ankle injury he sustained in the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams.

However, he returned to practice on a limited basis on Friday, and the team is optimistic about his participation in the game against Tampa Bay.

Head coach Dan Campbell commented on Sewell’s situation before Friday’s practice, saying, “Not sure yet.

We’ll see.”Sewell, who had an All-Pro season last year allowing only one sack, has not missed a snap since his rookie year in 2021.

He allowed two hits and no sacks in the Week 1 victory over the Rams.Jameson Williams is also questionable due to an ankle injury he incurred during the game against the Rams.

Despite briefly leaving the game, he came back to record five catches for 131 yards and one touchdown. Williams practiced on a limited basis throughout the week but is expected to play against Tampa Bay.

With Isaiah Williams out due to an abdomen issue, the Lions’ only fully healthy receivers are Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kalif Raymond.

A wideout from the practice squad will likely be elevated for the game, with options including Tom Kennedy, Tim Patrick, Allen Robinson, and Donovan Peoples-Jones.

On defense, Davenport is doubtful due to a groin injury, having missed practice all week and declining to discuss his status
