The Dallas Cowboys fell to an unexpected 1-2 record after a 28-25 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. A key factor in their struggles was the uncharacteristic performance of star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Lamb fumbled and dropped a critical pass, leading to frustrations that were visible on the field. He was seen having a heated exchange with quarterback Dak Prescott, fueling concerns that the Cowboys were starting to unravel.
Lamb did not speak to reporters after the game but later apologized for both his actions and his poor performance, acknowledging that his body language only heightened concerns.
“Just being professional about the situation. It’s a long game,” Lamb said. “But as for my performance, I hold myself to high expectations. Honestly, I failed myself and the team by not being the game-changer they rely on.”
Players can get frustrated, particularly when key moments don’t go their way. The Cowboys usually start strong, but a 1-2 record is unusual for this playoff hopeful.
“I let the game affect me,” Lamb admitted. “But I know my abilities and what I bring to the team. Moving forward, there will be a difference.”
As a team leader, Lamb’s frustrations shouldn’t reach a point where he’s arguing with Prescott or anyone else. Despite rumors of tension, Lamb clarified that his relationship with Prescott remains strong.
“Our bond, if anything, is stronger,” Lamb explained. “Don’t believe the rumors. We’re brothers. The passion and energy are part of it, but we’ll always come together in the end.”
The Cowboys look to get back on track Thursday against the New York Giants. Despite the short week, Dallas should be in a good position to win, especially with key Giants players like Adoree’ Jackson and Dru Phillips out, and wide receiver Darius Slayton listed as questionable.
