The Dallas Cowboys secured a victory on Sunday night in Pittsburgh, but much like their previous game against the New York Giants, there was concern over the cost.
In their win over the Giants, Dallas saw DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons sidelined at points, and during the Steelers game, rookies Marshawn Kneeland and Tyler Guyton both exited due to injuries.
There is still no word on Guyton’s condition as of this report, but the initial outlook on Kneeland seemed grim. He was unable to put weight on his right knee and was carted off the field.
However, an update on Monday afternoon revealed that while Kneeland is injured, it isn’t as severe as initially feared.
Jordan Schultz and Ian Rapoport reported that Kneeland avoided an ACL injury but did suffer a meniscus tear, which will sideline him for a period as he undergoes treatment.
While no injury is ever good news, this update is a relief compared to earlier fears. The exact timeline for Kneeland’s return is still uncertain.
Von Miller experienced the same injury in late November 2022 while with the Buffalo Bills and missed the remainder of that season.
Further details will come from Mike McCarthy and Jerry Jones soon, providing more context.
Kneeland, for his part, took to social media to assure fans he’d be back “soon.”
