The Dallas Cowboys delivered another disappointing performance in Week 6, suffering a crushing 47-9 defeat at home to the Detroit Lions.
The Cowboys struggled offensively, with Dak Prescott failing to throw any touchdowns and throwing two interceptions. Their leading rusher, Rico Dowdle, managed only 25 yards.
Lions safety Kerby Joseph, who had an interception during the game, shared insights about Detroit’s defensive game plan that effectively neutralized the Cowboys’ offense.
On the St. Brown Podcast, co-hosted by wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, Joseph emphasized that the key to their success was focusing on CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys’ standout receiver.
“The game plan was really just to take CeeDee Lamb away; we know he’s a playmaker,” Joseph noted.
“Once we took him out of the game, we weren’t really concerned about anyone else.”
This revelation highlights a significant issue for the Cowboys offense, revealing a lack of depth and threat beyond Lamb.
The team has failed to improve its rushing attack in the offseason, leading to the worst ground game in the NFL.
With no substantial running threat, the offense has become one-dimensional.
This should serve as a wake-up call for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys during their bye week.
If they genuinely want to improve and claim to be “all-in,” they need to consider adding more offensive talent to enhance their game. Without adjustments, their chances of turning the season around seem bleak.
