After three years of transfers, the ex-Auburn quarterback is once again looking to move schools.

Finley moved to Texas State, where he had a standout 2023 season. He threw for 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns with eight interceptions as the Bobcats finished 8-5 and won the First Responder Bowl.

However, Texas State brought in Arizona transfer Jayden de Laura through the transfer portal, prompting Finley to leave (de Laura never played for the Bobcats after a sexual assault lawsuit settlement was revealed; Texas State later signed James Madison transfer Jordan McCloud). Finley then transferred to Western Kentucky, where he won the starting job over Caden Veltcamp during the preseason.

Veltcamp took over after Finley’s injury this season, throwing for 2,806 yards and 23 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. The Hilltoppers (8-5) were defeated by Jacksonville State 52-12 in the Conference USA championship game on Friday and will face James Madison in the Boca Raton Bowl on Dec. 18.
