Cowboys fans hoping for a coaching change may need to be patient, as Troy Aikman told TMZ Sports he believes the team will retain Mike McCarthy in 2025.
McCarthy’s contract ends after this season, and with the team stumbling to a 5-8 record so far, many in Texas have been calling for new leadership. However, Aikman, speaking on Wednesday, expressed doubt about a change.
“My gut tells me, right now, he will be back,” the Hall of Famer said. “That’s an assumption on my part, but that’s kind of what I’m feeling right now.”
Aikman also seemed to support the decision, noting that most of Dallas’ 2024 struggles are not “at the doorstep of Mike McCarthy.”
