Javante McCoy joins the Detroit Pistons, bringing his skills to the team’s roster.

The Detroit Pistons announced today the signing of guard Javante McCoy to a contract. As per team policy, the terms were not disclosed.

McCoy, a 6-foot-5, 180-pound guard, has been excelling with the Motor City Cruise, the Pistons’ NBA G League affiliate.

Over 12 games this season, he has averaged 14.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 26.1 minutes per game, while shooting an outstanding 51.4% from three-point range.

His accuracy leads the Cruise and ranks seventh in the G League among qualified players.

A Milwaukee native, McCoy has played 96 G League games with the South Bay Lakers, Austin Spurs, and Motor City Cruise, compiling career averages of 11.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Prior to his professional career, McCoy spent five seasons at Boston University (2017-22), earning All-Patriot League honors in his final year with a career-high 17.4 points per game.

The Pistons are thrilled to add McCoy’s scoring and shooting talent to their roster as they continue to focus on building for the future.
