Josh Allen can serve up any type of touchdown you’d like.
During Sunday’s Buffalo Bills vs. Detroit Lions game, microphones caught Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir saying that quarterback Josh Allen asked him whether he wanted a rushing or receiving touchdown on the play where Shakir scored. Initially, the play had been designed as a hand-off.
“Did he say he was pitching it in the huddle?” backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky can be heard asking Shakir in the clip.
“He asked me,” Shakir says. “Right before it, he said, ‘What you want?'”
Allen confirmed Shakir’s account while talking to another Bills player on the bench: “I asked Khalil. He said he wanted to pitch it.”
On the day, Shakir recorded six receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown. Allen, meanwhile, strengthened his 2024-25 MVP case with 362 passing yards and two touchdowns.
