Jamal Adams cut from Lions practice squad, marking the end of his Detroit journey.

The Lions are in dire need of defensive help, yet veteran safety Jamal Adams couldn’t make the cut in Detroit.

Adams was let go from the Lions’ practice squad today.

At just 29 years old and a former first-team All-Pro, this could signal the end of his career. Despite the Lions’ injury-plagued defense, they can’t afford to release anyone who can contribute right now. The conclusion is clear: they believe Adams is no longer capable of playing.

After limited action with the Titans earlier this season, Adams received another chance with the Lions, but only played 20 defensive snaps in two games. Now a free agent, Adams will look to persuade a team to give him a shot in 2025.
