The Detroit Lions will begin their postseason on Saturday, hosting the Washington Commanders at Ford Field for their Divisional Round matchup. This marks Detroit’s first playoff appearance after securing the No. 1 seed in the NFC and receiving a first-round bye.
Quarterback Jared Goff is expected to play a major role, as he aims to lead the Lions to victory over the Commanders. Goff is having one of his best seasons in a Detroit uniform, and fans are counting on the four-time Pro Bowler to deliver on Saturday.
Ahead of the highly anticipated game, Goff’s wife, Christen Goff, made a special announcement via Instagram. A native of Valencia, California, Christen has been doing her part to assist with the ongoing wildfires that have ravaged southern California.
Jared Goff also hails from California, born in Novato, attending Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, and later the University of California, Berkeley. The couple revealed that they have partnered with Michigan-based real estate company Crain Homes to help victims of the wildfires.
As noted in the post, Crain Homes and the Goffs are asking Detroit residents to support California wildfire victims. They are auctioning two VIP tickets for Saturday’s game at Ford Field.
Christen Goff shared more details on her Instagram Stories, emphasizing that all proceeds from the auction will go to the nonprofit California Strong.
For those interested, bids can be placed through this website. The auction features two VIP front-row tickets with VIP parking, early access to the stadium, and all-inclusive food and beverages in a luxury environment.
According to a CNN report, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass stated that “the city appears to be turning a corner in its battle against the wildfires.” She plans to introduce several executive orders next week aimed at “getting on the path to rebuilding.”
However, Bass emphasized that “there is no greater priority than getting people back home.”
