SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Dennis Schroder poured in 23 points, including five 3-pointers, and Brandin Podziemski added 20 points off the bench as the Golden State Warriors triumphed 114-103 over the struggling Utah Jazz on Tuesday night. Stephen Curry was out to rest his ailing knees.
Collin Sexton tied his season high with 30 points, shooting 12-of-19 for Utah, which dropped its seventh consecutive game and 10th in its last 11 contests.
Andrew Wiggins contributed 19 points, while the Warriors capitalized on Utah’s turnovers, scoring 12 points off six first-quarter mistakes and a total of 26 points from Jazz errors.
Podziemski also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists, helping to manage the point guard duties in Curry’s absence. Kevon Looney collected 11 rebounds.
Coach Steve Kerr anticipated Curry’s return for Wednesday’s game against the Thunder. The two-time MVP warmed up early, but the medical staff decided to rest him as a precaution due to the tendinitis in both of his knees, which he has been managing throughout the season.
Jazz: Utah has lost seven straight games to Golden State and has not won in San Francisco in nine straight attempts since a 111-85 victory on February 9, 2022.
