BYU Climbs in AP Top 25 Rankings Ahead of Postseason

BYU’s ranking in the AP Top 25 marks their highest position since January 1, 2024, when they reached No. 12.

The Cougars finished the regular season strong with an eight-game winning streak, highlighted by a thrilling double-overtime victory at Iowa State and a Senior Day win against rival Utah.

BYU Basketball Advances to No. 17 in AP Top 25

BYU is one of the hottest teams in college basketball right now, tying for the 10th-longest current win streak. The No. 17 spot in the AP Top 25 places them as the highest-ranked team from the western U.S., with Saint Mary’s at No. 19 and Oregon at No. 23 as the other ranked teams from the region.

BYU joins three other Big 12 teams in the rankings. Houston, the Big 12 Champion, leads the pack at No. 2, with Texas Tech at No. 9 and Iowa State at No. 12. Iowa State slipped two spots following their loss to BYU.

Looking ahead, BYU sets its sights on the Big 12 Conference Tournament in Kansas City. As the No. 4 seed, they secured a double-bye and will face either Iowa State, Cincinnati, or Oklahoma State on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. (MDT).
