The Detroit Lions are continuing to finalize contracts with members of their 2026 draft class as the team prepares for training camp.

According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, Detroit has officially signed fifth-round draft picks Keith Abney and Kendrick Law to their rookie contracts following the 2026 NFL Draft.

Both players were selected on Day 3 of the draft and are expected to compete for immediate depth roles when the team begins training camp.

Keith Abney Contract Details

Cornerback Keith Abney reportedly signed a four-year rookie contract worth approximately $4.878 million, according to Wilson. The deal includes a signing bonus of about $498,900.

Abney quickly became one of the more intriguing late-round selections for the Detroit Lions due to his physical playing style, toughness, and positional versatility. During his college career with the Arizona State Sun Devils football, he demonstrated the ability to play multiple roles in the secondary.

Detroit is expected to give Abney an opportunity to compete for snaps both on the outside and in the slot during his rookie season.

Kendrick Law Contract Details

Wide receiver Kendrick Law has also officially signed his rookie contract with Detroit.

Wilson reported that Law agreed to a four-year deal worth approximately $4.83 million, which includes a signing bonus of roughly $450,132.

The former standout from the Kentucky Wildcats football program brings speed, toughness, and strong run-after-catch ability to the Lions’ offense. Detroit believes Law could contribute early both on offense and on special teams as he develops in the NFL.

Lions Moving Quickly to Sign 2026 Draft Picks

The Detroit Lions have been aggressive in signing their rookie class shortly after the draft concluded. Earlier Monday, Detroit also finalized rookie contracts with second-round defensive lineman Derrick Moore and fourth-round linebacker Jimmy Rolder.

Under general manager Brad Holmes, the organization appears focused on ensuring its entire rookie class is under contract well ahead of training camp, allowing the team’s newest players to concentrate fully on football preparation.
