Raiders in talks with Chargers, Rams about Costa Mesa training camp logistics

The Raiders’ training camp will probably take place in Costa Mesa, California, but before anything is official, a few details need to be worked out.

The Jack Hammett Sports Complex will be the Raiders’ training camp location for a year, thanks to a majority decision by the Costa Mesa City Council on Tuesday. Although the Chargers have trained there in the past, this summer they will be at their new facility in El Segundo.

The Raiders are negotiating a contract with the Chargers and Rams for the marketing rights to Southern California, so that’s how long they’ll stay there.

Raiders attorney Lucas Paule stated, “We need to be cognizant of that,” according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. We are having open discussions on the logistics with both teams. The discussions are still going on. And we feel secure enough to declare that we will remain here, especially now that the city has authorized it.

Before the Raiders’ summer plans are officially announced, details like camp dates and whether or not practices would be available to the public must be ironed out.
