Cody Rhodes continues his dominance over a rising 30-year-old star, securing his 6th win in 269 days after RAW went off the air.
Cody Rhodes boasts an impressive record against many WWE superstars, especially considering the numerous victories he accumulated in 2024. Among those wins, five came against one particular wrestler, whom he defeated for the sixth time following the conclusion of RAW.
RAW ended with a dramatic moment, as Sami Zayn accidentally hit Seth Rollins with a Helluva Kick after Drew McIntyre moved out of the way. After the show, Cody Rhodes, who had no direct involvement with the trio, made his way to the ring to set up a WWE Title defense against the familiar 30-year-old Carmelo Hayes.
Following the broadcast, the two faced off in a dark match, where Rhodes triumphed over the former NXT Champion in their sixth meeting within 269 days, improving his record to 6-0.
Dark matches have often followed WWE shows, and the crowd was excited to see The American Nightmare make an appearance beyond his usual brand. As of now, there has been no major storyline for Cody on RAW, so it makes sense for him to remain on SmackDown as its main attraction.
It’s likely that Cody and Carmelo Hayes will cross paths again in the near future.
