Kelly Stafford Reveals Video of Matthew Returning Home Following Title Match

After a tough loss in the NFC Championship, Matthew Stafford may have left everything on the field—but at home, he returned to his most important role: dad.

In the early hours of Monday morning, January 26, Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, posted clips from their home security camera on Instagram. The footage showed the 37-year-old quarterback quietly stopping by each of his daughters’ bedrooms around 2:30 a.m. to kiss them goodnight after the Los Angeles Rams fell to the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle.

Kelly, 36, captioned the first clip by noting that despite the disappointing end to the game, Matthew came home focused on his family. The couple shares four daughters—8-year-old twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7-year-old Hunter, and 5-year-old Tyler.

Later that morning, the girls woke up to a sweet surprise from their parents: a box of donuts topped with a handwritten message thanking them for their support throughout the season. The note praised the girls for being “rockstars” and credited them as the motivation behind their dad’s standout year, ending with a heartfelt “We love you.”

Sunday’s loss concluded Stafford’s 17th NFL season and his fifth with the Rams. Even at 37, he delivered one of the strongest performances of his career, throwing a personal-best 46 touchdown passes while completing 65 percent of his throws. He also limited turnovers, finishing with just eight interceptions—marking the third time in four seasons he’s kept that number so low.

Kelly and their daughters were a visible presence throughout the year, frequently attending games. In December, their youngest, Tyler, captured attention online when she celebrated one of her father’s touchdowns with a spirited dance set to Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia.”

The couple has often shared glimpses into their life as parents of four girls, including on Kelly’s podcast, The Morning After, which is currently on pause. During a June 2025 episode, Matthew spoke candidly about fatherhood, describing it as the most private and meaningful part of his life. When he’s with his daughters, he said, his attention is fully on them, and outside comparisons or expectations don’t matter.

He also reflected on the idea of having a son, suggesting it might have brought added pressure. Having experienced high expectations from a young age himself, Matthew expressed gratitude that he didn’t face that level of scrutiny in early childhood. He explained that he was able to enjoy being a kid—playing sports and having fun—before the weight of expectations arrived in his teenage years, allowing him to grow into his path at his own pace.
